Norwich City Council chose to add a scroll listing all the female Lord Mayors of Norwich and a peace stone from St John the Baptist Cathedral to the time capsule.

For her Time Capsule contribution, Lord Mayor of Norwich Councillor Vivien Thomas 2024-25 chose a scroll listing the female Lord Mayors of Norwich and, as a 'Mayor for Peace', a peace stone from the city's St John the Baptist Cathedral.

Norwich was a trendsetter in championing women in civic life - in 1923, the city's first female Lord Mayor Ethel Colman was also the first female Lord Mayor in Britain. She was followed by remarkable women from all walks of life who promoted social inclusion, help for the needy, a living wage, decent pensions, anti-slavery causes and women's suffrage. Norwich salutes their decades of public service.
