Body shield vest; a two-piece padded fabric waistcoat that has a series of metal squares, each linked to the other at the corners by steel rings, eight rows deep, attached to the cloth; breast and back plates made of separate pieces of steel linked together to provide articulation; produced and purchased privately during the First World War, they were not issued equipment
