hard cover book, Douglas Burrall: His Wartime Letters, with an Account of his Life, Edited by his suster K. M. Burall. This book contains a biography of Captain Douglas Burall and then the letters he wrote from the time he went into uniform in August 1943 - his enlistment had been repeatedly postponed due to ill health although he had been active in the Home Guard and the Scouts up until this point. He started as a Cadet in the Norfolks and was in various training locations around the UK until he was posted overseas in December 1944, listing his rank as Lt. They arrived in India in January 1945 and he served all over the country until his death in Ranchi in May 1946 as a result of a motobike accident. He was a Captain serviing as Field Security Officer.
