Description

Standard issue blue enamelled water bottle with felt cover used by the British Army from 1908 replaced by the 1944 pattern. The fabric cover is sewn on and if wetted could provide some cooling by evaporation. The bottle fitted a cotton web holder, hung from the right side of the soldier's belt. It held two pints (1.14 litres) weighing two and a half pounds (1.13kg)
