Road Map of India

A 6th edition paper reinforced with linen coloured grid map depicting the roads of India. It was published in January 1945 under the direction of Brigadier C.G. Lewis, O.B.E., Surveyor General of India. The top right corner contains a scale wtih 1 inch to 50 miles and a reference guide. The reference guide shows through routes, other main roads, places where delays may occur, railways, places with lodging/food/petrol pumps, province and state lines, district boundaries, and road mileages. There are also some personal markings with black ink upon the map. This map is part of collection of items relating to Frederick Herbert Ryder, no. 5769420.
