Letter written by Colonel Borton of the 2nd Battalion which he commanded in South Africa to Colonel Andrew C. Becher commanding officer of the 1st Battalion in India, dated 21st November 1901. Borton explains that the battalion has been on the move since September and joining Kekewich's force. He has put all the men into slouch hats which are preferred. He gives news and his opinions of individual officers and the militia troops.
