Description

A full dress Tunic worn by Sergeant Richardson of the Norfolk Regiment Volunteer Corps (N.R.V.C). He may have been a member of the 10th corps Fakenham Rifle Volunteers (existed 1859 -1866). This full dress tunic is made of grey wool with red and gold piping around the collar, edges and coat tail. There are two dark grey buttons on the shoulder accompanied by a line of gold piping along the length of the shoulder. On both arms there are three grey, red edged chevrons, signifying the role of Seargent. Both cuffs are decorated with a design of red and gold piped interwoven loops. There is a hook and eye fastening inside the collar and 8 dark grey buttons along the front of the tunic. There are two metal belt hooks on the back of the tunic. In line with the belt hooks, there are two dark grey buttons with red and gold piping going down the tunic.
