Boxing Trophy

Trophy awarded to the boxing team of the Ist Battalion for winning the Army and RAF Boxing Association of India Cup in 1937. Boxing was much encouraged in the forces as a way of toughening men physically and instilling confidence. Team events also promoted pride in one's unit. An inter-services event like this would be especially hard-fought and the victory a great source of pride.
