Description
Copper bugle with embossed figure of Britannia in use by the 1st Battalion between 1920 and 1959. Drill movements were performed to the beat of the drum, though by the mid-19th century much of the time-keeping in barracks and in the field was regulated by bugle, the second instrument of every drummer.

The sounding of the bugle call 'Last Post' at the funerals of servicemen and on the 11th November each year is extremely poignant. “Remembering Cpl Alex Guy, 1st Battalion Royal Anglians. Died on Merrick 16 (2012). I remember the Last Post that was sounded in remembrance of him”.
