Description
Two stone moulds for making lead shot for use in muskets collected by Lt Hadow in Tibet whilst commanding officer of the Machine Gun Section of the 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment which accompanied Colonel Younghusband on his 'political mission' or invasion into that country in 1903.

Lt Hadow describes how the Tibetans were 'armed with swords and matchlocks of various sizes, and a few Russian guns were picked up afterwards.' These muskets were no match for the state-of-the-art Maxim machine gun which Lt Hadow was in charge of.
