Description
German Army Officer’s Sword, 1930's. Hilt: reverse P shape stirrup guard of gilt brass. Plain pommel, back-piece, ear. Languets and down-swept quillon. Silver-wire bound, black leather grip. Faustriemen ( wrist strap) black fabric with 3 silver threads knotted on to the quillon and guard. Troddel (sword knot) silver-grey. Blade: slightly curved, single edged, flat backed, spear-point with a single fuller starting 40 mm from mouthpiece. No pronounced shoulder. No markings. Scabbard: steel, painted black. No markings. One band with loose suspension ring and fixed bar at back.
