Food was an important element of every soldiers’ life. Often it was poor and unappetizing. When possible, rations were supplemented and all officers knew the impact that poor or good meals would have on morale. This bullet was kept as a souvenir, as the bullet that killed the Christmas Goose 1914. Looking at the size of the bullet, it is doubtful that there was much goose left!
