Officer's Albert Shako - West Norfolk Militia dated around 1844, worn by Horatio, Earl of Orford. Cylindrical hat of felt with a patent leather crown and headband at base. Front and rear patent leather peak. Metal chin chain fixed with rose pattern fasteners at sides. Red and white tuft at top front. Badge comprised of Queens crown over garter star with 'West Norfolk' in scroll. Makers label inside "C Herbert & Co, Army clothes etc. London".
