Description
Pike, a form of spear or lance used by the British infantry from the 15th Century until the begining of the 18th century. It was extremely effective against an enemy on foot or horseback. The shaft was usually made of ash and was 16 to 18 feet long. Officers carried Half-Pikes which were 8 feet long.
