The facing colour of the Norfolk Regiment's uniforms between 1751 and 1881 was yellow. By tradition, the officers and drummers also had a black line in their lace (the braid on their uniforms) to commemorate the burial of Sir John Moore at Corruna during the Peninsular War. The drummers also wore black bugle cords in his memory from at least 1925, although there does not appear to be have been any formal authority to do so.
