2nd Bn Officers, Burma 1944

Description

A caricature of Major G.E. Bradshaw looking like a yellow chick with a man's head pointing to a noticeboard with another soldier saluting him while kneeling it has the title "To Hear is to Obey, Samib" In an album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with a description: Major G. E. Bradshaw. "Chick" (Groucho) was Adjutant, "D" Coy Cmd, and 2 i/c successively with the Bn in Burma. Captain of the Bn first drinking team, he lead them to victory on many a wet wicket. Crawley, having been ordered to put the original cartoon, "The Bull", on the notice board, drew this one in self-defence. "Press On Dynamite"
