Description
A caricature of Major R. Bothway dressed in a riding outfit with a walking stick and a pig on a lead it has the title "There was an old farmer..." In album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with a description: Major R. Bothway. Dick, alias "Tits" alias "Roger Brothelwaite" was a Gentleman (?) Farmer. He commanded "C" Coy after being the T.O. in Burma. A renowned member of the fisrt team, he was also justly famed for his victories of the boudoir. The Python and Ladder was the sign chosen for a jeep won while on detachment, as a part of the Bothway Deception Plan. "Any more undue familiarity"
