Description

A caricature of Capt Webb, dressed as in white trousers, stripy red shirt, blue waistcoat and with a fez. He is sat cross legged on the floor next to a tea urn - his complexion is darker completing the idea that he has 'gone native', the image is called "Charwallah!!" In an album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with no description but there is a handwritten note on the image saying "Capt WEBB. Killed in an accident to a 2" ?? at MALIANWALA (Nr Sialkot) Punjab in Nov '46. OS. 'A' Coy
