Description

A caricature of Capt. A. F. Boldero, he is in army uniform sitting at a desk with an oversize mug containing a hot drink and his pipe, the image is called "A Few Char" In an album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with a description: Capt A. F. Boldero. Frank (Fanny) Boldero was CC HQ Coy in Burma. He could always be found drinking a strange brew which was suspected of being composed of iron filings, but which he insisted was "just a few char". He originated the novel medical diagnosis of Krug and Lumpus - Krumpus. "A TENDER DROP OF SOUP"
