Description
A caricature of Capt S S F Horner, he is in army uniform holding a cigarette, the image is called "What's Going On Here?" In an album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with a description: Capt S.S.F. Horner. Sammy, or the Virgin Prince, was Sigs Officer I.O., and Adjutant in Burma. A member of the first team, he was renowned for his exploits among the rafters. His unruffled bearing earned him a Mention at Kohima, when at a somewhat sticky moment he appeared on the scene saying "What's going on here"? The only man who told Robert Scott to "Shut up" and survived. "THIS IS THE END"
