Description
A caricature of Lieut Col J.F. Wilkins he is on a horse waving a staff in the air, it is titled "Forward the Ninth of Foot!" In an album of caricatures with humourous captions depicting officers of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Norfolk Regiment whilst in Burma 1944. Drawn on white paper which is stuck into the scrapbook with a description: Lieut Col J.F Wilkin. James French, commonly known as "Tim" commanded the Bn after Bill Brown. He is famous for the zest with which he put out imaginary fires on party nights, and for his renderings of "Anthony Claire". "Fundamentally and Categorically"
