Description

The 110th. Mahratta Light Infantry, I.A. crossing the Tigris on 8th December. Several Mahelas were moored on the far bank of the Tigris, and a British Officer, with an Indian O.R., swam across, secured a Mahela, and brought it back to the Left Bank. With this as a swing ferry, the 110th. crossed to where Camp Snipe was eventually located, and advanced on Kurna.
