Fossil, fungus indet. cup shaped bracket fungus, grey/brown in colour; Quaternary, Pleistocene, Ipswichian, base of diamicton layer, from Shropham, Norfolk. Tentatively identified as Fomes fomentarius, the tinder polypore, also known as touchwood, punk, hoof fungus, amadou, or Amadouvier.
