Description

Cardboard and wooden box which originally enclosed 48 penny tins of Colman's Mustard; cardboard front and back and inner lid with red, yellow and black printed labels; wooden ends stamped as per labels; wooden outer lid, marked in red and black lettering: 'COLMAN'S MUSTARD BY SPECIAL APPOINTMENT TO THE KING' ; a crown and the 'bull's head' logo; the wooden lid is inscribed 'LING HEATH', one of the sides 'C.T. HEWITT' and the inner lid: 'First Aid Requisites'; about 1880 - 1900
